National Nutrition Month

National Nutrition Month® is a nutrition education and information campaign created annually in March by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, formerly the American Dietetic Association. The campaign focuses attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day, also celebrated in March, increases awareness of registered dietitian nutritionists as the indispensable providers of food and nutrition services and recognizes RDNs for their commitment to helping people enjoy healthy lives. Visit their public website for more information, ideas, tips and recipes: www.eatright.org/Public

More to come about that program during the month, but first here's a great Eat Right Challenge I found posted on www.nutritiouseats.com National Nutritious Month 2013. Visit her website for lots of good info.

Changing your eating behaviors can be overwhelming; you may be trying to change a lifetime of habits in a fairly short time frame. This "challenge" helps you break some changes down into manageable bits. Change one behavior, or at least start the process, each day of this month. No need to do them in order, rather just pick one each day and mark it off. Some may already be a part of your routine, others may not fit with your goals, while others may be new ideas and concepts you want to continue throughout the year.

Action Item: Print this calendar or save it to your desktop and look at it every day!
